A film by Ray Concepcioñ

posted by jordan | Nov 4, 2009

As of today, Ray Concepcioñ is rapidly becoming my favorite short form, music documentary director. With over 70 videos on his Vimeo page, Ray captures intimate live performances from bands like The Walkmen, No Age, Bear In Heaven and Vivian Girls at New York's fanciest venues including The Guggenheim, The Whitney Museum of American Art, and The MOMA.

Ray has the uncanny ability to capture verité moments and match them with his erratic camerawork and dreamy in-camera effects, creating a style all his own. The tight knit, silent atmosphere is really stunning.

Hit the jump to see a selection of pieces and be sure to bookmark his Vimeo page because there is lots more there these came from.

Beyond: Vivian Girls from Ray Concepcioñ on Vimeo.
