M Blash — ‘O Pioneers’

Easily one of my favorite campaigns from 2009. ‘O Pioneers’ was originally penned by Walt Whitman and directed by M Blash for Levis. Pioneers displays a beautiful wistfulness about itself and explores the nature of what it means to be young and defiant. M controls both the cinematography and pace magnificently in this piece.

From The Directors Bureau:

M Blash was born in Southern California in 1978, but soon moved with his family to Portland where he has lived and worked for much of his life. Growing up among the lush and wild landscapes of Oregon, M found the inspiration that shaped the core of his aesthetic, and his deep passion for nature continues to drive his work in a clear and profound way.
