This Saturday July 31st Los Angeles’ own silky smooth, Bond Girl rock outfit Kissy Suzuki is back at it @ Mr. T’s Rock N Bowl. Garage rock never sounded so sleazy and I can personally attest to how much ass these guys have been kicking recently and I can’t wait to see them finesse their way into your hearts and pants.

If you thought the World Cup was intense, you should be watching the Tour de France. It is, bar none, one of the most extreme, grueling sporting events to take place in the world, and watching these packs of riders compete for the win is plainly exhilarating. Photos of the race, even such breathtaking ones as these (from Boston.com) can only do so much to convey the passion and fervor of riders from around the world trying to claim one of the most coveted awards in sporting competition.

“Full Bleed is a photography book coming out through Vice that has photos of skating in New York City from the last 30+ years. It was put together by Ivory Serra, Alex Corporan, and Andre Razo, with images from over 50 photographers…”

VBS put together a special Epicly Later’d featuring several of the photographers (including Patrick O’Dell) exploring the themes and reminiscing the scene. There are some truly funny moments in there and would make anyone want to try and get a piece of the big apple.

As you may recall, a little while back I posted on the Volume show in Los Angeles, which featured great artists like Logan White and Brendan Lynch. Brendan was kind enough to send us over some images of 2 of his pieces in the show, along with a little description.

These are my two new pieces. The sculpture is titled Poppin’ Bottles and is 114″ x 90″ and is made from concrete, glitter, and various glass bottles. I poured twenty fifty five pound bags of concrete. The two wall paintings were spray painted on the wall then sanded them down to create colored dust on the floor.
