The first interview is up today, and it’s with the very talented painter/illustrator, Ben Tour. Definitely a nice one to kick off the series. I’ll post my favorite part of the interview after the jump along with the images Jeff posted.

My Dad actually introduced me to it as he would lay out magazines cut and paste style and have sheets of Letraset Rub-On next to the drafting table. I also remember as a kid their was similar stuff in boxes of Fruit Loops – you would get a little rub-on sheet with Toucan Sam and you could use a pencil and rub him onto paper. I’d forgotten all about the stuff and then by chance years later found a box of it, which I still have.

I came across Claire’s work on Booooooom. Jeff had posted on a series of her work called Sleep For Days (loving that title, by the way), and although I didn’t think the pictures themselves came out all that compelling, the idea was really interesting. Continue after the jump to read and see more.

So I went to her site, and I discovered that she’s actually a pretty smart photographer. I loved the idea of 6-hour exposures of people sleeping, but I loved more the idea behind her series On Relationships.

On relationships pairs polaroids of two people who are in a relationship together. The photos of the younger people are more interesting to me due to, amongst many other ideas, the level of apparent discomfort with themselves and their counterparts. It’s interesting to see who picks who in this world.
